1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using the MAATS platform (maats.in and all associated portals including student, moderator, franchise, and admin portals), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are registering on behalf of a minor, you confirm that you are a parent, legal guardian, or authorized franchise representative with the authority to accept these terms on their behalf.
2. Platform Description
MAATS is a digital educational platform that provides:
- Online abacus and mental arithmetic competitions at national and international levels
- Practice kits containing curated question papers for skill development
- Performance tracking, analytics, and ranking systems
- Digital certificates and awards for competition participants
- Franchise management tools for educational institutions
3. User Accounts
3.1 Registration
- You must provide accurate and complete information during registration
- Student accounts for minors (under 18) must be created by a parent, guardian, or authorized franchise
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
- One account per individual — multiple accounts may be suspended
3.2 Account Types
- Student: Can participate in competitions, purchase practice kits, and view results
- Franchise: Can manage students, track enrollments, and assign practice kits
- Moderator: Can create content, manage competitions, and publish results
- Admin: Full platform administration access
4. Competitions
4.1 Participation Rules
- Students may only participate in competitions within their assigned category and subcategory
- Categories (A, B, C, D) are assigned based on the student's profile; subcategories are age-based
- Each student gets one attempt per competition unless otherwise stated
- Competitions must be completed within the specified duration
- Use of calculators, external tools, or unauthorized assistance is strictly prohibited
4.2 Results and Rankings
- Rankings are determined by highest score, then shortest completion time
- Results are final once published by moderators
- MAATS reserves the right to disqualify participants for rule violations
- Certificates are issued digitally and may be downloaded from the student portal
4.3 Registration Fees
- Some competitions may require a registration fee
- Fees are clearly displayed before registration
- Payment is processed securely through Razorpay
- Refund eligibility is governed by our Refund Policy
5. Practice Kits
- Practice kits are digital products and are non-transferable
- Access to purchased kits is valid until the stated expiry date
- Attempt limits (if any) are enforced as configured by the kit creator
- Content within practice kits is proprietary and may not be reproduced or distributed
- Kits assigned by franchises or admins follow the same usage terms
6. Payments and Refunds
- All payments are processed in Indian Rupees (INR) through Razorpay
- Prices are inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise
- Refunds for competition registrations are available only if the competition has not yet started and registration deadline has not passed
- Practice kit purchases are non-refundable once access has been granted
- In case of technical failures during a competition, MAATS will provide an alternate attempt or full refund at its discretion
- Refund requests must be submitted within 7 days of purchase
7. Intellectual Property
- All content on the platform including questions, question papers, exam designs, and educational materials is the intellectual property of MAATS
- Users may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from platform content
- Screenshots or recordings of competition questions are strictly prohibited
- The MAATS name, logo, and branding elements are protected trademarks
8. Prohibited Conduct
Users must not:
- Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the platform
- Share login credentials with others or access another user's account
- Attempt to manipulate scores, rankings, or competition results
- Use external assistance during timed competitions
- Upload harmful, offensive, or illegal content
- Attempt to hack, disrupt, or compromise platform security
- Engage in any activity that violates applicable laws
9. Franchise Terms
- Franchise accounts are responsible for their enrolled students' compliance with these terms
- Franchises must maintain accurate student records and enrollment data
- Revenue sharing arrangements are governed by separate franchise agreements
- MAATS reserves the right to revoke franchise access for violations of these terms
10. Limitation of Liability
- MAATS is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
- In the event of technical failures during competitions, our liability is limited to providing an alternate attempt or refund of the registration fee
- Total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by the user in the preceding 12 months
11. Account Termination
MAATS reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts for:
- Violation of these Terms of Service
- Cheating or unfair practices during competitions
- Providing false or misleading information
- Non-payment of fees or fraudulent transactions
- Extended inactivity (accounts inactive for over 24 months)
Users may request voluntary account deletion by contacting support. Deletion requests are processed within 30 days.
12. Modifications to Terms
MAATS reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Users will be notified of material changes via email or platform notification. Continued use of the platform after modifications constitute acceptance of the revised terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from or relating to these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
